The City of Melbourne is accepting applications from persons who would like to be considered for volunteer service on municipal boards. City Clerk Cathy Wysor said that volunteers who serve on the 20 Melbourne boards are vital to municipal operations. "The citizens who serve on these boards are directly assisting their community, and they get an opportunity to help shape Melbourne's quality of life," Wysor said. While most of the City boards provide recommendations to the City Council, some also make final decisions. The City Council selects members by majority vote from among citizens who volunteer for service. Each board
candidate must fill out an application
form and provide a brief resume of experience and
qualifications. Interested residents can contact the City Clerk's Office
at 953-6225 for additional information or e-mail .
