Molly Tasker
District 5

Molly Tasker was elected without opposition in 2008 from Melbourne's District 5.  Her current City Council term will be completed in November of 2012. She has also been appointed by the City Council to serve on the Airport Authority that governs operations of the Melbourne International Airport.

District 5 covers an area from Eau Gallie Boulevard southward to Dow Road and to the north perimeter of the Melbourne International Airport at NASA Boulevard, and the area that extends eastward from from just west of Harbor City Boulevard (U.S. 1) to Interstate 95 on the west. Council Member Tasker is a lawyer in Melbourne and is also an active volunteer. She worked as an attorney for the Central Intelligence Agency before retiring and returning with her husband, Richard Curtis, to live in Brevard County.

Education and Training: Council Member Tasker is a graduate of Cocoa High School and received an associate degree from Santa Fe Junior College in Gainesville. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton and received her Juris Doctor degree from Florida State University.

Community Service:  She has been a member of the Melbourne Building and Construction Advisory Committee and also worked as a volunteer attorney with the Brevard County Legal Aid Office. She has previously served as a board member with the Brevard Juvenile Justice Council, The Community Housing Initiative, and the Emergency Medical Services Foundation.
