The City of Melbourne Public Works and Utilities Department will be closing Pineapple Avenue between Parkway Drive and Riverdale Drive, in Melbourne, in order to perform embankment erosion control. The work is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 8, at 8 a.m. and extend until Friday, August 9, at 4 p.m.

Over time, erosion in this area has become a concern for the stability of the utility poles and roadway along this section of Pineapple Avenue. Repairs will help ensure that the poles and roadway will be more resilient in the event of a hurricane or other high-wind event.
