Approximately 130 volunteers serve on 17 standing boards and committees that guide a range of city services from code enforcement to affordable housing to energy efficiency in city operations.

Serving on a board is a great way to directly impact issues in the city that you care about. Board service also provides an opportunity for you to build new skills, gain leadership experience, and expand your professional and personal network.

Applications are accepted from individuals who would like to be considered for volunteer service on municipal boards. While most of the City boards provide recommendations to the City Council, some also make final decisions. The City Council appoints members by majority vote from among citizens who volunteer for service. Each board candidate must complete an application and provide a brief resume of experience and qualifications.

If you are interested in applying, request an application by sending an e-mail to city.clerk@mlbfl.org or contacting the City Clerk’s Office at 321-608-7220.
