As the economic and business hub for South and Central Brevard County, the City of Melbourne recognizes that a fertile business climate and many employment opportunities promote an improved quality of life for residents of Melbourne and its surrounding communities.

Melbourne’s Economic Development Division is charged with attracting, retaining and expanding private capital investments, which in turn facilitates job creation. The City of Melbourne works in tandem with its Brevard County and State of Florida partners in providing a wide array of local and State incentives.

In addition to direct business assistance, the Economic Development Division coordinates capital improvement projects that improve infrastructure, construct community amenities, and enhance public areas within the City’s three Community Redevelopment Areas (CRAs). These CRA improvements are conducive to attracting new development and fostering a sense of community.
