Group of Trash Bash volunteers at Eddie Lee Taylor Sr. Park

On April 6, 2024, the City of Melbourne will participate in Trash Bash — the annual county-wide litter cleanup day. Trash Bash continues a tradition that has been sponsored nationally by Keep America Beautiful for over a half-century as the Great American Cleanup, encouraging efforts to clean roadways, waterways and parks.

You Can Help!

We are actively seeking Trash Bash volunteers. With nine clean-up sites around the city this year, there is sure to be one near you:

  • Downtown Melbourne/Melbourne Main Street - 2004 Vernon Place
  • Ascension Catholic School - 2950 N Harbor City Boulevard
  • Carver Community Park - 1092 Swan Street
  • Riverview Park (kayaks, small vessels and paddleboards only) –2400 Riverview Drive
  • Joseph N. Davis Community Center – 2547 S Grant Street
  • Eddie L. Taylor Sr. Community Center – 3316 Monroe Street
  • Palm Bay High School – 101 Pirate Lane, Gate #4
  • Paradise Beach at Howard E. Futch Memorial Park – 2301 Florida A1A
  • Southwest Park – 400 W Florida Avenue

Participants will have the opportunity to earn volunteer hours and help with the mission to keep plastic and litter out of our vulnerable lagoon, ocean and other waterways.

Breakfast, snacks and t-shirts (limited amount) will be provided.

Please bring your own water bottle and dress appropriately for weather. If you own a kayak or paddleboard, Riverview Park is the perfect place to join the cleanup.

When

  • Saturday, April 6, 2024, 8 a.m. until noon
