Home Menu10.12 Working out of Classification
When an employee is required to serve in and accept the full responsibility for work in a higher classification for a period of 10 consecutive working days or more, the employee will be placed into an “acting” status and will receive a pay incentive of 5% of base pay for the extent of the “acting” period. Holidays are included in the computation for acting pay; however, partial days are not eligible for acting pay, and weekends are excluded for those who work a standard work week.
Employees assigned to work in the capacity of City Manager or Department Director shall receive “acting” pay after serving in that capacity for 5 consecutive days.
