10.8 Pay for Lateral Transfers

A transfer is defined as the placement of an employee into an alternate vacant position with the same pay grade and pay range. The City may transfer an employee from one position to another within the same pay grade based on the needs of the City as long as the employee meets the minimum qualifications for the position. This movement must be approved by the Director of Human Resources. An employee who accepts a lateral transfer will retain his current rate of pay.
