The City currently participates in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) for non-union employees and employees covered by the Laborers International Union (LiUNA) bargaining agreement. FRS offers two retirement plans, the FRS Investment Plan and the FRS Pension Plan. Employees are provided a one-time option to move from one plan to the other. City employees that are certified Police Officers and Firefighters participate in a local pension plan established by City ordinance.
